Bahrain Herald was born during the height of COVID-19 pandemic with many print publications closing shop. We invested in human capital and made a smooth transition to remote work to facilitate our team of reporters to function freely. We have also benefitted immensely from Bahrain’s status as a regional leader in digital infrastructure, as well as one of the first nations to introduce a nationwide 5G network. Bahrain has one of the highest Internet penetration levels in the MENA region at 99% with a median age of 32.5 years. More than 89% of the 1.7 million people are urbanized. These major factors have contributed to a paradigm shift in media consumption habits and with easy access to smartphones, tablets, computers and free Wi-Fi - the growth of the digital media scene has been significant and this digital resilience is projected to grow stronger in the imminent future.
